Wining through Paso

Last October Uncle Peter and my Dad had a wine weekend planned in Paso Robles that turned into a mini Kelly Reunion. Dan flew in from the East coast where he was on sabbatical in Richmond. Patty flew in to San Diego then she and James drove up to Claremont and our group headed off to Paso for a terrific weekend of wine, food and family.

Our itinerary was meticulously planned by Peter and Colleen who are members at many vineyards in Paso and the greater Bay area. Aunt Nancy and Maureen even made the trek out to the West coast as well! The first winery we stopped at on Saturday morning, Denner Winery, was empty except the staff and us. They were such gracious hosts, serving us and even taking great photos of our group.

After a beautiful private tasting at Tablas Creek, we enjoyed an olive oil tasting and a phenomenal picnic lunch at the Pasolivo Olive Oil estate. Then drove to our final wine pusher of the day (we skipped one - Adelaida Vineyard)

After sobering up back at our casita we hit the town for a lovely meal at Buona Tavola in downtown Paso Robles - a fantastic Tuscan restaurant.

The next morning MudCo1 said goodbye to Aunt Patty and the rest of the group. James, Dan and I drove back to Claremont after one last stop to wet our whistles at the Firestone Brewery for lunch and some great brews.
